FINAL PROJECT!

 AS I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE MY PERSPECTIVE IN APPRECIATING THIS WORLD, MY PROJECT FOR THIS TERM IS WORKING ON THE FLICKER POST AS THE CONTINUATION OF THE WORK WE DID LAST TERM. ON MY FLICKER SITE, THERE ARE 283 PHOTOS BEEN SORTED OUT INTO 21 ALBUMS; 293 PHOTOS AND 15 ALBUMS ARE THE WORK I DID THIS TERM. THOSE PHOTOS DEMONSTRATE THE BEAUTY IN MANY DIFFERENT LOCATIONS IN THIS WORLD: THERE ARE PICTURES FROM CITIES IN CHINA, JAPAN, CANADA, AND THE US. I CATEGORIZED MY ALBUM WITH SOME MAIN FEATURES AND STORIES IN THE PHOTOS.

VLONE:

VLONE MEANS WE ARE ALONG, IN WHICH THERE IS A GREAT CONTRAST BETWEEN THE WE AND ALONG. NORMALLY, WHEN PEOPLE GATHER TOGETHER, THEY WILL NOT FEEL ALONE, HOWEVER AS WE NOWADAYS LIVE WITH PEOPLE BUT STILL FEEL ALONE SOMETIMES. IN THIS ALBUM, I ADDED SOME PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE SCENE THAT I SPEND ALONG IN THIS SOCIETY. 

                             

                                             

 

THE PATH:

IN THIS ALBUM, I RECORDED A “DOOR” IN A GALLERY, WHERE PEOPLE WALK THROUGH IT TO GET INTO THE AREA AND GET OUT OF IT. THE ATMOSPHERE INSIDE IS REALLY DIFFERENT FROM THE OUTSIDE, WHICH CREATES GREAT CONTRAST: THE OUTSIDE IS IN A COLD TONE BUT THE INSIDE IS IN A WARM TONE. THE DOOR IS LIKE A CONNECTOR OF THOSE TWO WORLDS.

IN THIS ALBUM, I TOOK THE PICTURES FROM THE MAGAZINE. THERE IS A VARIETY SHAPE OF ICE CREAMS, AND I THOUGHT THOSE ARE SUPER INTERESTING.

THIS ALBUM, A LOT OF OUTSIDE OF THE STORES INCLUDING THE UNDEFEATED VANCOUVER, STUSSY TOKYO, FUCKING RABBIT TOKYO, AND EVEN THE NOODLE SHOP IN JAPAN. THOSE DESIGNS ARE REALLY COOL AND MATCH MY AESTHETIC. 

                                        

                                                 

CRAFTSMAN SPIRIT:

IN THIS ALBUM, I WANT TO SHOW PEOPLE THE CRAFTSMAN SPIRIT, BY SHOOTING AT THOSE CRAFTSMEN’S WORKING SCENES AND THE PRODUCT THEY MADE. IT IS REALLY GRATEFUL TO SEE THE MASTER OF CAR TUNER AKIRA NAKAI, WHO SPECIALIZES IN THE DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF CUSTOM WIDE-BODY KITS FOR CLASSIC PORSCHE MODELS. IF PEOPLE SEE THE PROCESS MR. AKIRA WORKING ON THE CAR, HIS CONCENTRATION AND PASSION ARE INSPIRING. CHEF ALSO IS ANOTHER GREAT EXAMPLE OF CRAFTSMANSHIP, THEY DEDICATE THEIR TIME, WISDOM, AND EFFORT TO MAKING THE FOOD TASTE GREAT. I CAN FEEL THEY ARE TRYING THEIR BEST TO MAKE THE FOOD DELICIOUS. SOME PICTURES ARE TAKEN IN RESTAURANTS IN OSAKA JAPAN, AND THE RWB PORSCHE PICTURES ARE TAKEN IN VANCOUVER.

PULLING ELEMENTS FROM NIKE, ADIDAS AND PUMA, OWENS WAS ATTEMPTING TO—IN HIS WORDS—CREATE MONSTER TRUCKS FOR HIS FEET. THE RESULT WAS SOMEWHERE BETWEEN MOON BOOT AND HIGH-TOP, FEATURING AN ULTRA-EXTENDED TONG

  THE ROLE OF AUTHORSHIP IS THAT PEOPLE COULD TELL “HELL YEAH THAT’S BOWEN’S WORK!” BECAUSE THERE IS MY SOUL, MY STYLE, AND EVEN MY EXPERIENCE IN MY WORK. MY WORK EQUALS TO MY NAME IN SOME ASPECTS. OF COURSE, I CONSIDER MY WORK ORIGINAL, BECAUSE I EXERCISE MY AESTHETIC BY READING A HUGE VARIETY OF WORKS, WHICH ARE IN VERY DIFFERENT KINDS OF STYLES. THEN I  COME UP WITH MY OWN STUFF. WHEN THE AUDIENCE LOOK AT MY WORK, THEY COULD ONLY TELL OH THAT ARTWORK LOOKED A LITTLE BIT LIKE BLABLABLA’S WORK, BUT ALSO A LITTLE BIT LIKE DLADLADLA’S WORK. BUT FUCK NO, IT IS JUST L I K E, THAT STYLE IS BOWEN’S STYLE MY ORIGINAL SHIT.      EVERYONE WHO STARES AT MY WORK FOR MORE THAN 3 MINUTES COULD “TAKE POSSESSION” OF MY WORK AND DERIVE THEIR OWN MEANING FROM IT. I THINK WHEN THE AUDIENCE GET THE BEAUTY OF MY STUFF, AT THAT MOMENT, THEY TAKE POSSESSION OF IT. AND THEY COULD ALSO DERIVE THEIR OWN MEANING FROM IT BECAUSE PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES OF LIFE COULD DEFINITELY DERI VE DIFFERENT MEANIN

  “BEETHOVEN’S DEAFNESS DESIGNATES THE LACK WHEREIN RESIDES ALL SIGNIFICATION; IT APPEALS TO A MUSIC THAT IS NOT ABSTRACT OR INWARD, BUT THAT IS ENDOWED, IF ONE MAY PUT IT LIKE THIS, WITH A TANGIBLE INTELLIGIBILITY, WITH THE INTELLIGIBL E AS TANGIBLE.” BARTHES (P. 152)   BEETHOVEN’S MUSIC IS OFTEN SEEN AS A REFLECTION OF HIS INNERMOST THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS. HIS DEAFNESS, HOWEVER, FORCED HIM TO RELY ON HIS OTHER SENSES, PARTICULARLY HIS SENSE OF TOUCH AND VIBRATION, TO CREATE HIS MUSIC. HE WOULD OFTEN PLACE HIS HANDS ON THE PIANO OR ON THE WALLS OF HIS ROOM TO FEEL THE VIBRATIONS OF THE SOUND HE WAS CREATING. THIS ALLOWED HIM TO CREATE MUSIC THAT WAS NOT JUST AUDITORY, BUT THAT WAS ALSO TACTILE AND PHYSICAL.    AS FOR MY PROJECT, I SHARED MY PERSPECTIVE TO ENJOY THE BEAUTY IN OUR LIFE.
